North Lanarkshire Council have worked in partnership with Amy Ford since 2018. This partnership has led to the successful implementation of UP2U across both Justice and Children and Family Social Work services in North Lanarkshire. The suite of UP2U resources have enabled our local authority to provide a trauma informed approach to behaviour change work both for mandated individuals and non-mandated individuals and their families. Our UP2U service continues to evolve and develop in North Lanarkshire with the support and guidance from Programmes2Change.
Really enjoyed this training. The content was very informative with some really great tools to use. It was fun made so by Amy who is very experienced and engaged her audience with such knowledge and enthusiasm which made us feel all at ease and willing to learn. I would really recommend this to anyone who works with families.
We would highly recommend the Up2U: Family Practice and in particular Amy Ford who delivers the training. We commissioned the Up2U: Family Practice model in 2021/22 and 2022/23 and due to its popularity and impact have recommissioned for 2023/24.
The Up2U programme is designed with the utmost care and expertise. The resources provided are not only comprehensive and engaging but are easy to follow, making the learning process enjoyable and effective. The toolkit provides interventions and strategies to overcome resistance and challenge, by taking a strengths-based approach – something we feel passionate about.
The programme also provides an impressive after-care system with knowledgeable staff on hand to provide guidance and encouragement and who are genuinely invested in better outcomes for our children and families.
UP2U family practice and Youth UP2U 3 days was very intense, lots of information to take in, was really good and very informative.
Reflected on myself and then with families’ ‘use of resources and identify people’s understanding and how we can then help / empower them with the interventions.
I attended Youth UP2U – brilliant training Amy always has lots of energy and has lots of skills and knowledge.
I have used colours and emotional regulation interventions with parents. Parents recognised their behaviour and now the family are closed to the team due to no further police reports.
Interactive training learnt new tools to use with parents & children to help to recognise and change emotional regulation. User friendly and relatable for families.
Inter active training to support with working with families . Sweep to keep Self talk Unhealthy and healthy behaviours.
I liked that it was interactive and we was given the opportunity to deliver some of the programme and practice this I thought Amy the facilitator was very good.
I found the way of learning to be engaging. The strategies used such as repetition and learning while doing suited me and my learning style. There was a light heartedness and good humour to the sessions which I felt helped the group to relax into the learning.
Amy is amazing and makes the topics so much fun to learn. the strategies will be useful for many of the families we work with. The way the electronic resources are set out in to sessions with all the work sheets and supporting paperwork in one folder so you don't have to look through 3 books.
Delivery really good. Great Content
Builds confidence through practical delivery
Resources that are clear and simple to use and that we can use with clients during home visits. Basic CBT principles.
It was very interesting, something new and different. I have also learned new skills and this will benefit the families I am working with.
I liked that the training was fun and really informative, Amy structured it all really well and it was very engaging.
